More spider threads in the grass

A circular walk from Lewes, East Sussex – November

We had not gone for even a day walk since September, and the weather forecast was good, so we took the opportunity to drive to Lewes in East Sussex to do a circular walk, which was around 16 miles and took 7 hours (including getting lost for a while trying to follow the directions in our guidebook).

Walking west from Firle Beacon over the South Downs, someone was flying an old-style aeroplane doing tricks, mostly flying up high to dive vertically down over and over again, but at one point leaving a heart-shaped smoke trail above our heads.

Another thing we saw a lot of was spider threads all over the place in the grass. On a fence you could see lots of tiny spiders working away, covering everything in their shiny threads.
