Coast and Castle – Cardigan Bay and Harlech – April

With bad weather continuing, we ended up having a walk along the beach near Bennar within Cardigan Bay, exploring some of the expansive Shell Island campsite which we came to. We walked back over the dunes (tiring!), along the edge of Llanbedr airfield. Later, having driven to Harlech to get some groceries, we had a quick look inside Harlech Castle before they closed for the day. It has a lot of nice nooks and crannies that you can nose around. We decided to try camping at Shell Island that night. They have a rule of camping at least 20m away from your neighbour – unusually far, as usually the specified distance is about 6m!
The following day, with still no improvement in the weather, we headed back home.
