A sunny day. We started walking from Ogwen Cottage, and it took us a while to get to the start of the scramble, as the initial directions did not seem to correspond very well to what we were seeing in front of us. Eventually, we managed to match the two, and we started going up inbetween the interestingly-shaped rock formations that must have given the route its name. The way was quite exposed in places, but not too worrying, and we soon topped out onto the main ridge without having to rope up. After enjoying the sun for a bit on Foel Goch, we walked on over Y Garn, and then decided that we might as well continue to Glyder Fawr rather than head down since we still had time and energy. It felt like we got there faster than we expected. The top was busy in the pleasant weather. We scrambled down Y Gribin, taking the purest line possible on the crest. My left knee, perhaps unused to the new heavy boots I was breaking in, was a bit twingey by the end.
