First time in the Rhinogs, Snowdonia – April

Having driven a bit further south to try to find something we could do in the poorer weather, we ended up in the Rhinogs. We did an easy walk up the so-called Roman Steps, where large stones pave the way at the start, then took the steep path off to reach the summit of Rhinog Fawr, which was a bit grey and windy. Choosing our initial way down using our map rather than the guide book, we eventually coming back round to the Roman Steps again, where we examined the stones closely after noticing some well-worn grooves in some of them – from old carts going across the pass?
