Water droplets on grass

A moist walk near Betws-y-Coed, Snowdonia – August

We had been hampered by rain and wind again the previous day. The forecast was still not great, and it was a bit wet. We ended up doing a couple of easy walks near Betws-y-Coed, one that took in some woods and the Swallow Falls, and another one where we decided on a route by looking at our OS map. It was on paths or tracks through woodland and a nature reserve, and the vegetation looked quite green and happy in the abundant moisture.

A few days later, we walked up the Nantlle ridge which lies south of Snowdon. As we walked higher, we seemed to walk into fine but constant rain, and we did not come out of it until we headed down again. There was some wind up higher as well. We did get to Y Garn and as far as Mynydd Drws y Coed.
